Jeran Campanella
present day
Who
Flat-earther featured in the 2018 documentary Behind the Curve; co-host of GlobeBusters with Bob Knodel; later ran his own experiments (jeranism.com).
Why it matters
The film ends on his light experiment: two holes cut into styrofoam sheets at the same height over water; if the surface is flat, a light shone through the first hole should be visible through the second at the same height. At the same height it does NOT appear; 'Lift up your light, way above your head' - raised to compensate for curvature, it immediately appears. 'Interesting... That's interesting.' (The film ends.) Then the arc: in 2024 he went to Antarctica for The Final Experiment and admitted his model was 'no longer valid' - he later stepped away from the community. From 'That's interesting' to a public admission in six years.
Lineage
Built on the same dip/curvature geometry as the horizon-dip experiment - his light test is a two-point version of the dip measurement. Enabled the most complete arc in the flat-earth community on camera: experiment → surprise → expedition → admission.
